Decalogue Society of Lawyers Member Benefits

The Decalogue Society of Lawyers (DSL) is a professional organization serving lawyers, judges, and related personnel of the Jewish community. It collaborates with the American Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists (AAJLJ), so members can access benefits at no additional charge. The DSL primarily caters to members in Illinois in a seven-county region, including Cook, DuPage, and Kane, but welcomes members nationwide.

The DSL educates members on issues salient to the Jewish community. It grants access to continuing legal education (CLE) courses, which amount to about 18 credits annually, and provides discounts to DSL events. Membership fees depend on an applicant’s practice area, professional years, and law firm employment. Applicants can also pay their dues according to a schedule or a one-time, lifetime fee.

By joining the AAJLJ simultaneously, DSL members can attend events like the National Conference of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists, which hosts seminars eligible for CLE credit. Law students can also apply for scholarships which fund recipients’ research and education in Israeli law.
